It is perhaps a bit peculiar for me to write my first blog post on a subject that is a summing up of the year’s photography, but it is mid-December and the season for “best-of” and “year-in” lists. That and my other ideas weren’t ready for publication yet.
A search of the internet finds most of the lists representing the year in photography tend to be a depressing record of humanity’s suffering over the past 12 months. But not always.
A look at collections or photo competitions over the past year shows that photographers have been aiming their cameras at many interesting subjects that are beautiful and inspiring.
